Types of data that can be cloned by HUAWEI Phone Clone/Tablet Clone

Only HUAWEI phones/tablets can be used as new phones/tablets (that is, data receivers) during Phone/Tablet Clone. Non-Huawei phones or tablets cannot receive data. The following describes the types of data that Phone/Tablet Clone supports:

1. HUAWEI phone/tablet -> HUAWEI phone/tablet:

Contacts, messages (common SMS messages, advanced messages, and MMS messages), call logs, calendar events, images, audio files (including music, recordings, and call recordings), videos, documents, and apps.

If you clone data from a HUAWEI phone/tablet to another HUAWEI phone/tablet, third-party app data (such as WeChat chat records) and certain system apps (such as Notepad, Optimizer settings, and Browser bookmarks) can be cloned.

EMUI 5.0: Calendar, Notepad, Clock, Harassment blocking, Optimizer settings, Wi-Fi settings, Weather, AI Tips, and home screen icon layout.

EMUI 5.1 or later: Camera settings, Recordings, system settings, Baidu IME for HUAWEI, call recordings, Clock, Huawei Mobile Services, SMS settings, and Driving mode.

EMUI 9.0 or later: Password Vault, DS-Engine, taskbar in Desktop mode, and Data Management Services.

*App data refers to the data stored under the system path (data/data), not app data created and saved on the internal storage card or SD card, such as downloaded media files.

Note:

1. Phone/Tablet Clone (EMUI 8.x or 9.x) supports the cloning of text, voice messages, images, videos, and other WeChat files under tencent/MicroMsg in the internal storage card.

2. The latest version (EMUI 9.x/10.x) of your phone/tablet supports the cloning of twin app data, as long as both the old and new HUAWEI phones/tablets run EMUI 9.0 or later.

3. Unsupported types of data are described below.

Basic data:

Contacts from your SIM card and third-party accounts, and protected SMS messages that contain verification codes.

Multimedia data:

Photos and videos stored on the cloud, and files stored in your Safe.

Apps and data:

App caches, data from financial and banking apps, and incompatible apps and their data.

Data of twin apps such as WeChat:

Photos, videos, and other data in a WeChat twin app cannot be transferred unless the twin is also cloned.

4. Cloned data will overwrite the existing data in the apps such as WeChat, Clock, Weather, and home screen settings. For details, refer to the onscreen reminders.

(5) The SIM card 1 or SIM card 2 markers on call records and messages cannot be transferred.

(6) Data in sub-user and guest accounts cannot be cloned.

(7) Only images, audios, videos, and documents on the SD card can be transferred. Data on the SIM card, such as contacts, cannot be transferred.

(8) The lock screen password and fingerprint are advanced privacy information, and the fingerprint is stored in a special secure area, so they cannot be accessed by Phone/Tablet Clone. Therefore, you cannot clone the lock screen password and fingerprint from the old device to the new device using Phone/Tablet Clone.

(9) For privacy security purposes, any bank card information and access cards associated with Huawei Pay cannot be cloned. Therefore, Phone/Tablet Clone does not support the transfer of bank card information or access cards associated with Huawei Pay.

Note: You can clone contacts, messages, call logs, calendar events, Gallery, music, and documents between the PrivateSpace on the old device and the PrivateSpace on the new device.

2. Other Android phones/tablets -> HUAWEI phones/tablets:

Contacts, SMS and MMS messages, call logs, calendar events, images, audio files, videos, documents, and apps (excluding app data).

3. iPhone -> HUAWEI phone/tablet

Contacts, calendar events, and photos and videos taken using the pre-installed camera app. Other data and apps cannot be cloned. To transfer app data, it is recommended that you check whether the app supports data transfers on the corresponding settings screen.

Note: Data transfers are only supported between iPhones running iOS 8.0 or later and HUAWEI phones running Android 6.0 or later.
