Check the notification settings of your device
- Swipe down from the status bar to display the shortcut switch panel. Make sure that your phone/tablet is in Sound mode and Do not disturb is disabled (you can also search for Do not disturb in Settings).
- Adjust the ringtone volume. Go to and increase the volume of incoming calls, messages, and notifications.
- To enable the notification feature, perform the following:
Open Settings, search for and touch Apps, find Messaging, then touch Notifications.
(1) Enable Allow notifications. If it is already enabled, disable it and then re-enable it.
(2) Select SIM card 1/2, disable Gentle notifications, and make sure that Lock screen and Banners are turned on.
(3) Open Do Not Disturb options, and make sure that Allow notifications is enabled.
Check whether the contact information screen is displayed when a message is received
If a message is received on the contact information screen, the device does not play the prompt tone or display the notification.
Clear Messaging data
Clear Messaging data by performing the following:
Open Settings, search for and touch Apps, find and touch Messaging or Messages, and go to .
