HUAWEI MateView/MateView GT displays a black screen or no signal after being connected to a computer
HUAWEI MateView/MateView GT displays a black screen or no signal after being connected to a computer |
Troubleshooting 1: Check the connection between the computer and monitor
- Check the computer status: Make sure that the computer connected to the monitor is powered on and active, with the screen on and unlocked and not in sleep or hibernation mode.
- Check the indicator on the monitor: Check whether the indicator on the monitor is on. If not, try using a different power socket or power adapter, or use another monitor of the same model to check whether the monitor is faulty.
- Check the USB-C port compatibility: If the monitor has no display only when connected through the USB-C port, confirm with the computer manufacturer whether the USB-C port supports screen casting.
Troubleshooting 2: Check signal cables
- Use the original cable: Make sure that the DP or USB-C cable delivered with the monitor, rather than any non-standard cable, is used. If you are using a non-standard cable, please verify its compatibility using other devices.
- Reconnect the cable: Reconnect the cable and check the connection between the computer and the monitor to ensure that the connection is secure.
When using an adapter or adapter cable, pay attention to the connection direction. Connect the higher-bandwidth port to the host and the lower-bandwidth port to the monitor. For example:
- DP-to-miniDP: DP and miniDP ports have the same bandwidth and support bidirectional transmission. Both forward and reverse connections are supported.
- miniDP-to-HDMI: The miniDP port should be connected to the host and the HDMI port to the monitor.
- USB-C to HDMI: The USB-C port should be connected to the host and the HDMI port to the monitor.
- USB-C to miniDP: The USB-C port should be connected to the host and the miniDP port to the monitor.
- DP-to-miniDP: DP and miniDP ports have the same bandwidth and support bidirectional transmission. Both forward and reverse connections are supported.
Troubleshooting 3: Check the graphics card compatibility
- Check the graphics card compatibility: Contact the graphics card vendor to check whether the graphics card supports the 3840 × 2560 resolution. If not, reduce the resolution to the range supported by the graphics card.
- Update the driver: If there is a spare monitor, connect it to the computer and uninstall and reinstall the graphics card driver. The procedure is as follows:
- Press Win + X and go to Device Manager > Display adapters from the list displayed in the lower left corner.
- Right-click Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620, AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics, or Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, select Uninstall device, and select Delete the driver software for this device.
A black screen will appear when you uninstall the driver. This is normal. Please wait for the uninstallation and reinstallation to complete.
- Restart your computer after the uninstallation is complete, and wait for Windows to automatically install the compatible driver.
- Double-click to open Huawei PC Manager, go to Optimization > Drivers, click Update in the upper right corner to update the driver. After the new driver is successfully installed, restart the computer.
