My phone fails to charge when connected to a computer USB port

Use a standard charger to charge your phone for troubleshooting:

If your phone charges normally when a standard charger is used, the issue may be caused by the USB port on your computer.

• If your phone's charging indicator is off and no message indicating that a USB cable has been connected is displayed, check whether the data cable is properly connected or damaged. It is recommended that you reinsert the data cable or replace it with another one.
• If your phone is connected to a desktop computer, use the USB port on the back of the computer to charge your phone.
• If your phone is connected to a laptop computer, make sure you directly use the laptop USB port for charging. Do not use a USB extension cable because the power supply from external USB ports may be insufficient.

If the issue persists, contact the computer vendor for assistance.

If your phone does not charge when a standard charger is used:

Your phone may be faulty. Back up your data and take your phone and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
