My HUAWEI phone is unable to perform wireless reverse charging

Check whether your phone supports wireless reverse charging

You can visit the Huawei official website or contact the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance.

Check whether Wireless reverse charging is enabled

Go to Settings > Battery and turn on the Wireless reverse charging switch.

Ensure that the battery level is higher than 20%

If the battery level is lower than 20%, your phone turns off Wireless reverse charging automatically. Use a charger to charge your phone to above 20% before using the feature.

Check whether there are foreign objects between the two devices

Check whether there are objects between the two devices, such as a transportation card, metal ring, or metallic protective case. If so, remove them and try again.

Check whether wireless reverse charging is disabled on the device to be charged

Make sure that reverse wireless charging is not enabled on the device that you want to charge. Otherwise, the device that you want to charge may start charging your phone instead.

Check the position of the device to be charged

Check to confirm that the device you wish to charge has been placed on the center of your phone's rear cover, as the position of the device to be charged affects the charging efficiency. The farther the device is away from the center, the lower the charging efficiency is, and the device may even be out of range for charging. For details about the position of the device to be charged, see My HUAWEI phone cannot wirelessly reverse charge other phones.

Check whether the device to be charged supports wireless charging

Check whether the device to be charged supports the QI wireless charging protocol (it is advised that you consult the device vendor). If not, compatibility issues may occur. In this case, use the wireless charger that came with your device for charging.

The QI certification is an authorization mark issued by the Wireless Power Consortium. Only products that have been certified by the WPC can use the QI certification mark.

Use another device that supports wireless charging

Try charging another device that supports wireless charging. If the new device can be charged, the previous device may be faulty.

Update the system version

Check whether your phone is running the latest version.

  • Open Settings, enter "software update" in the search box, and tap to check for updates.

  • If the system displays a message indicating that it is up to date, your phone is running the latest version.

  • If the system displays a message indicating that a new update is available, update your phone to the latest version.

Ensure that your phone is not being charged wirelessly

Wireless reverse charging is not available when the device is being charged wirelessly. (For example, if your phone is being charged wirelessly while you're using an accessory that needs the phone to wirelessly reverse charge it, such as a ring light case or a micro-pump liquid cooling case, the accessory will not work.)

If the issue persists

If the issue persists, contact the Huawei customer service hotline, or back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
