Unable to use data services on the watch |
The use of mobile data is limited to the users who have activated eSIM service. For details about the countries/regions and carriers that support the eSIM service, please refer to Support by carriers and regions.
The watch can access the Internet via a connected phone via Bluetooth, via a WLAN (2.4 GHz), or via an eSIM mobile network if the eSIM service is enabled.
The watch will switch between networks based on the actual usage to use the best possible network. In common cases:
- If the watch is connected to the Huawei Health app on a phone via Bluetooth, the watch will give priority to the phone's network to save battery power.
- If the watch is not connected to the Huawei Health app on the phone, the watch will give priority to the connected WLAN.
- If the Bluetooth connection between the watch and the phone disconnects and the WLAN is unavailable, the watch will then use the eSIM mobile network.
If the watch cannot access data services, perform the following operations.
Check the settings on your watch
- Swipe down on the watch screen and check whether Airplane mode is disabled.
- Ensure that Ultra-long Battery Life mode is not enabled on your watch.
Check whether the network of the connected phone via Bluetooth is available
- The watch can only use the network of a connected phone running HarmonyOS or Android via Bluetooth. iOS phones are not supported.
- If the phone's network is unavailable, ensure that the network is normal and add the Huawei Health app to the list of background protected apps.
- When the watch is connected to the Huawei Health app on the phone via Bluetooth, the watch will give priority to the phone's network, except when being charged or updated, or when using HUAWEI Music.
Check whether a WLAN is available
The watch supports Internet access over a WLAN. If you cannot use a WLAN, perform the following steps:
- Ensure that WLAN is enabled on your watch. (Method: Go to Setup > WLAN.)
- When your watch is not being charged, it will use the phone's network via Bluetooth by default. However, in some scenarios (for example, when you are using HUAWEI Music or updating your watch), the watch will use a WLAN instead. If you want to use the WLAN for all apps, disconnect your watch from the Huawei Health app.
When your watch is being charged, it will give priority to a WLAN. If the WLAN does not work, check the availability of the connected WLAN by referring to WLAN error on the watch.
Check whether the eSIM mobile data is available
- Ensure that the eSIM service has been enabled on your watch, the eSIM status is normal, and you are not out of credit.
- Make sure that Cellular Data is enabled on your watch. (Method: Go to Setup > Mobile network > Cellular Data.)
- Ensure that the current network environment is good (by checking whether the 4G network signal is strong on your phone) and that the eSIM service has been enabled for accessing the Internet.
