Unable to enroll my fingerprint or use my fingerprint to unlock my HUAWEI phone |
Solution:
- Ensure that there is the fingerprint option in Settings, your finger and the unlock area are free of grime, water, or stains, and fingerprint unlock is enabled in Settings. Check whether the message "Enter PIN" displays when you unlock the phone.
- If your phone features an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and is covered by a non-official protective film (such as privacy film, hydrogel film, or tempered glass film), the signals received by the sensor may be weakened. It is recommended that you remove the protective film, or replace it with an official film before re-enrolling your fingerprint.
- Only a few templates are saved when fingerprints are enrolled on a new phone. The fingerprint algorithm adds templates through self-learning during the unlock process. It is recommended that you use the middle part of your fingerprint to unlock the screen first. By unlocking the screen with your already recognized fingerprint parts for a few times, you can get other unrecognizable parts recognizable and then use them to unlock the screen until all parts of the fingerprint work for unlocking the screen.
- Delete all fingerprints and enroll your fingerprints again. (For PrivateSpace, enter your password on the lock screen to visit it.)
- When the phone temperature is too high or too low, there may be a delay in fingerprint unlock after the screen is turned off. It is recommended that you place your finger on the phone and wait for 1 to 2 seconds until the system analysis is complete.
If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
