Unable to configure a network for my HUAWEI laser printer using the AI Life app |
HUAWEI PixLab X1 is used as an example.
Problem and cause
Network configuration fails using NFC, Bluetooth proximity detection, or scanning via AI Life app.
No. |
Problem |
Cause |
---|---|---|
Network configuration fails when the progress is 0% to 3% |
1. Bluetooth is disabled on your phone. 2. The AI Life app version on your phone is too early. |
|
Network configuration fails when the progress is 4% to 30% |
1. The printer is already configured with a network and is available to use. 2. If the printer is not connected to the network for more than 30 minutes, it will not send Bluetooth broadcast. 3. The printer's Bluetooth hardware is faulty. |
|
Network configuration fails when the progress is 31% to 50% |
1. No Bluetooth pairing prompt is displayed on the non-HUAWEI Android phone. 2. The user doesn't touch to confirm after the Bluetooth pairing prompt is displayed. 3. There is a device whose name starts with "HI-HUAWEI" in Settings > Bluetooth > PAIRED DEVICES on the phone. In this case, you will need to unpair them first and try again. 4. The network selected for the printer during network configuration may not be able to access the Internet. (Some company intranets don't allow users to access the Internet and can't connect to certain websites.) 5. Secondary authentication is required for the network to which the printer is connected (for example, a campus or hotel network on which a verification code needs to be entered on the web page). 6. The router's signal is unstable. 7. The Wi-Fi password is incorrect. |
|
Network configuration fails when the progress is 51% to 80% (excluding 80%) |
1. The printer fails to connect to the Wi-Fi network. 2. Policies such as anti-squatter are configured on the router, and the router rejects the access of the printer. 3. The security mode of the router is WEP or WPA3. 4. If 5 GHz is given a higher priority to choose from the router settings, network configuration may fail. 5. If dual-band roaming is enabled in the router settings, network configuration may fail. 6. The MAC address of the printer is disabled in the router settings. 7. The router's signal is unstable. |

Network configuration fails when the progress is 80% |
The network selected for the printer during network configuration may not be able to access the Internet. (Some company intranets don't allow users to access the Internet and can't connect to certain websites.) |
|
Network configuration fails when the progress is 81% to 99% |
1. The network selected for the printer can't access the Internet. (For example, some intranets can't access the Internet.) 2. Secondary authentication is required for the network to which the printer is connected (for example, a campus or hotel network on which a verification code needs to be entered on the web page). 3. The router used for network configuration of the printer can't access the Internet or the network over the cloud is unstable. |

- Use a network that can access the Internet to configure the network.
- Check whether the network requires secondary authentication (such as an enterprise, hotel, airport, or campus network). If you need to enter the account or verification code on a browser after connecting to the network, it indicates that the network requires secondary authentication. The printer does not support the network that requires secondary authentication. In this case, you will need to switch to another Internet connection or print with direct connection.
- Place the router closer to the printer, and then reconfigure the network.
Problem 4: Network configuration fails when the progress is 51% to 80% (excluding 80%)
- Check whether the Wi-Fi password entered during network configuration is correct.
- Place the router closer to the printer, and then reconfigure the network.
- Open the router settings screen and disable 5 GHz to be preferred.
- Open the router settings screen and disable dual-band roaming.
- View the MAC address of the wireless network on the information page of the printer. Check whether the MAC address exists in the router's list of disabled devices. If so, enable the device and reconfigure the network.
Problem 5: Network configuration fails when the progress is 80%
If the printer is connected to a network but can't access the Internet (for example, a company intranet), you will not be able to configure the network for the printer using the AI Life app on your phone. In this case, you can only use Huawei Print on a computer for network configuration instead.

- If not, use Huawei Print on your computer to configure a network for the printer.
- If so, reconfigure the network.
