0086 is automatically added when I am outside the Chinese mainland and using a HUAWEI phone/tablet provided for the Chinese mainland market to dial a phone number |
Problem:
0086 is automatically added when the user is outside the Chinese mainland and using a HUAWEI phone/tablet provided for the Chinese mainland market to dial a phone number.
Cause:
When you save a contact that is using a carrier network in the Chinese mainland to your phone, the calling code for the Chinese mainland (0086/+86) will be saved along with the contact's number. If you are using a SIM card issued by a carrier in the Chinese mainland on your phone/tablet and dialing a Chinese mainland number, 0086/+86 will be automatically added.
When you dial a number outside the Chinese mainland, 0086/+86 may also be automatically added for the number, if it has a format that is similar to that of a number in the Chinese mainland.
Solution:
- If your phone has been installed with a SIM card issued by a carrier in the Chinese mainland and a SIM card issued by a non-Chinese mainland carrier, disable the Chinese mainland SIM card and use the other SIM card to make calls.
- When dialing a contact's number, touch and hold the number, select Edit before call from the displayed options, and manually change the calling code that is automatically added to the number.
