My HUAWEI phone/tablet disconnects from Wi-Fi and reconnects to it from time to time |
Perform the following to troubleshoot the issue:
Check whether the Wi-Fi signal is strong
Restart your phone/tablet, swipe down from the upper right corner of the screen to access Control Panel, hold down on the Wi-Fi icon, and check the signal strength on the Wi-Fi screen. If the signal is weak, it is normal that your phone/tablet disconnects from and then reconnects to the Wi-Fi network. In this case, move to a place with a good signal.
Restart, reset, or update the router.
Check whether other devices on the same Wi-Fi network are experiencing the same issue. If so, the router may not be working properly.
In this case, restart, reset, or update the router. (To update the router, access the router configuration screen, and update its software to the latest version via an online or local update. For details about how to configure and update the router, consult your router supplier.)
Set your phone to always stay connected in sleep mode.
Check whether you have set your phone/tablet to disable Wi-Fi when the phone screen is off. To ensure that Wi-Fi is always connected, perform the following steps:
- EMUI 8.X or earlier: Open Settings, search for and touch Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep, and set it to Always.
- HarmonyOS & EMUI 9.X & Magic UI 2.X or later: Open Settings, search for and touch Stay connected when device sleeps, and turn on the switch next to it.
- This option is not supported on HarmonyOS 5. Skip this step.
Reset network settings
Open Settings, search for and touch Reset network settings, and then touch Reset network settings.
This will restore all network settings, including Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings.
