NFC is automatically enabled each time I unlock my phone using a fingerprint.
You may have selected the same fingerprint for unlocking your phone and opening HUAWEI Wallet quick pay.
To resolve this issue, open HUAWEI Wallet>My>Settings, search for and access HUAWEI Wallet quick pay, and disable this feature or select another fingerprint for this feature. For example, you can use fingerprint 1 to unlock your phone and select fingerprint 2 for opening HUAWEI Wallet quick pay.
NFC automatically turns on when pressing the Power button to unlock my phone.
You may have set the double-tap shortcut for the Wallet app, which will open the payment screen when you double-tap the Power button. In this case, if you press the Power button twice by accident when unlocking your phone, NFC will automatically turn on.
To disable the double-tap shortcut, go to

This is because automatic NFC has been enabled for your Wallet app. To disable it, go to , and touch Auto-enable NFC. Then, select Manually control or Enable while using Wallet, and touch OK.
NFC automatically turns on when opening some third-party apps
Some third-party apps invoke the UnionPay plug-in that is installed on your phone when opening them, which enables NFC automatically. To resolve this issue, perform the following:
- Update the UnionPay plug-in to its latest version: Go to Uninstall. Then open Wallet/Wallet (close Wallet if it is already open). After that, an update screen will be displayed when you open the app. Touch Download to complete the update. , search for and access , find the plug-in, and touch
- Update your phone system to EMUI 9.1 or later.
- If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
If your phone cannot be updated to EMUI 9.1 or later, manually disable NFC.
