Disable Keep screen on while looking
Open Settings, search for and access Keep screen on while looking, and disable this switch.
If you cannot find this option on your device, it indicates that your device does not support this feature. In this case, skip this step.
Set a pre-installed theme
Some third-party themes may prevent the screen from turning off. Try using a pre-installed theme and wallpaper in the Themes app.
Set a proper sleep time.
Open Settings, search for and access Sleep, and then check and set the sleep time. Your device screen will turn off according to the sleep time settings.
To keep the screen on all the time, go to and check whether there is a Never option. If not, your device does not support the Do not sleep mode.
Disable Stay awake
Search for and access Developer options, then find and disable Stay awake. If you have enabled it, the screen will remain on while your device is charging.
If Developer options is not displayed, open Settings, search for and tap Build number, and tap the build number for seven consecutive times until a "You are now a developer!" notification is displayed. Then, go to Settings again and search for and tap Developer options.
Developer options is a setting option on HUAWEI phones/tablets, which is provided for phone/tablet developers to develop and debug software. Changing settings in Developer mode requires a basic understanding of the functions and features on your phone/tablet. Incorrect settings may cause your phone/tablet to malfunction. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you disable this mode during daily use.

The screen does not turn off when certain apps are used
- Some third-party apps have a screen-on lock. It is recommended that you close the apps in the background, return to the home screen, and wait for 10 minutes. If the screen can then turn off as normal, it indicates that the issue is caused by third-party apps.
If the issue recurs after using the device for a while, uninstall the third-party app in question (if you are not sure which third-party app is causing the problem, call the Huawei customer service hotline).
- When you are making a voice or video call using a social networking app, the screen will be turned on by default if the speaker is in use, due to the app design. You can mute the speaker to have the screen turn off.
If the issue persists
If the issue persists, please call the Huawei customer service hotline for further assistance.
