Auto-adjustment of the phone screen brightness does not work |
Perform the following to troubleshoot:
Make sure that Automatic or Auto-brightness has been enabled
Open Settings, search for and access Automatic or Auto-brightness, and verify that the switch has been turned on. If the option can't be found, please refer to Automatic adjustment is not available in screen brightness settings.
Disable and then enable Automatic or Auto-brightness
If you tried to adjust the brightness of your screen manually when Automatic/Auto-brightness is enabled, the phone system will record this manual adjustment as your preferred brightness level. When there are subsequent changes in lighting conditions the next time, your phone will automatically adjust to this level. Disabling and then enabling Automatic/Auto-brightness will erase the brightness level preference saved on your phone.
Check whether the brightness has been adjusted in a third-party app
If you have adjusted the brightness in a third-party app (such as a video player or web browser), your phone will stop adjusting the brightness automatically according to ambient light levels, as the third-party app is now in charge of brightness control. Exit the third-party app and auto-brightness will take effect again.
Check whether you are using a colored protective film
It is recommended that you use a transparent protective film. A colored protective film will cause the proximity sensor to be blocked, leading to the automatic brightness function not to work properly.
Make sure that your phone system is up to date
Update your phone to the latest system version and try again.
