Side buttons get stuck, do not spring back into position, or become unresponsive

Troubleshoot by performing the steps below:

• Apply more pressure when pressing the buttons. Your phone's side buttons feature a micro switch designed to prevent them being pressed accidentally.
• If you are using a protective case on your phone, remove the case and check whether the buttons function properly. Generally, you need to press the buttons harder when a protective case is used. If you are using a third-party protective case, the side buttons may be unresponsive when you press them.
• Check whether there are smudges, liquid residues, or other foreign objects around the buttons. If so, the buttons may get stuck, fail to spring back into position, or be unresponsive.

  In this case, use a small brush, damp tissue, or cloth dipped in alcohol to firmly wipe the area around the buttons, while repeatedly pressing them.

• If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
