Videos are blurry when shooting a video in Slow-mo mode

To achieve better shooting effects, try the following:

Focus before starting slow-mo

Manually focus on the subject before you start shooting.

Keep your phone steady

When shooting, if you shake your phone, the video will be blurry. To avoid this, you need to keep the phone stable when shooting. If necessary, you can use a PTZ stabilizer or tripod to help shooting.

Select a proper shooting distance

If the distance between your phone and the subject is not proper, the video will be blurry. Therefore, you are advised to shoot a small subject up close, and a large subject from a distance.

Several ideal shooting scenarios:

  • When shooting a video of your finger, maintain a shooting distance of 50 cm and do not move your finger faster than 0.1 m/s.
  • When shooting a video of a car, maintain the following:

A shooting distance of 1 m to 5 m and the car moving at a speed no more than 3.6 km/h.

A shooting distance of 5 m to 10 m and the car moving at a speed no more than 18 km/h.

A shooting distance of 10 m to 100 m and the car moving at a speed no more than 108 km/h.

If you have higher requirements on the effect, you are advised to use a PTZ stabilizer or tripod.

If you are shooting objects moving at a high speed

If you are shooting objects moving at a high speed (for example, a fidget spinner), Slow-mo on your phone may not be able to capture clear images.

Avoid shooting through glass

If you have no choice but to shoot through glass, make sure the glass is clean and flat. Dust and unevenness on the glass will affect the shooting effect.
