Taking screenshots on the computer

Method 1: Using the preinstalled screenshot tool in the Windows 10 system

Click on the Windows icon, go to Windows Accessories > Snipping Tool > New, and drag the cursor to select the area that you wish to take a screenshot of.

Method 2: Using shortcut keys

  • Press PrtSc to take a screenshot of the entire screen. After the screenshot is taken, you can copy it to other programs, such as Paint.
  • Press Win+Shift+S to open the menu. You can then select to take a screenshot of the full screen or the window (drag the cursor to select the area you wish to take a screenshot of), and feel free to copy the screenshot to other programs, such as Paint.
  • Press Win+PrtSc to take a screenshot of the entire screen. You can then go to This PC > Pictures > Screenshots to view your screenshot.

If you fail to take a screenshot by pressing PrtSc or Win+PrtSc, it may be because PrtSc is set to Function key mode. In this case, press Fn to switch to Hotkey mode, and then press PrtSc or Win+PrtSc to take a screenshot.

Method 3: Using a third-party tool to take screenshots

For example, you can use third-party social media apps when convenient.
