Precaution:
Before you get started, make sure that you have logged in to your computer using a local account. If the account is a Microsoft account or you are not sure about the account type, perform the following operations to switch to a local account and then add, change, or cancel the login password of the local account.
- Press Win () + I to open the Settings window, and go to (or Your info).
Click here to go to Account information.
- Select Sign in with a local account instead. Follow the onscreen instructions, enter the password for verification, and set a new local account password to switch to the local account.

- Press Win () + I to open the Settings window, and go to .
Click here to go to Sign-in options.
If there is no Password option under Sign-in options, disable For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device (Recommended) in Other settings on the current screen, and restart the computer.
- Go to Password > Add and follow the onscreen instructions to add a startup password.
Change a local account password

- Press Win () + I to open the Settings window, and go to .
Click here to go to Sign-in options.
- Click Change under Password, follow the onscreen instructions to enter the old password and then set a new one, and click Finish.
You can leave the new password blank (except for the HUAWEI MateBook E Go Standard version) and directly click Next, so that only your account name will be displayed on the sign-in screen and there is no need to enter a password. You can click OK or press Enter to enter the system.
Cancel a local account password
If you do not want to enter the password, you can leave the password blank when setting a password (except for the HUAWEI MateBook E Go Standard version). You cannot remove the password option. If you leave the password blank, only your account name will be displayed on the sign-in screen and there is no need to enter a password. Click OK or press Enter to enter the system.
