Create a disk partition
- Before performing this operation, do not migrate data to other disks. Otherwise, data may be lost.
- If your desktop files have been moved to other disks or third-party app installation paths, back up the files in advance, or save them in the default system path.
- Right-click
on the taskbar at the bottom, or press
+ X, and choose Disk Management.
- You can check disk partitions in the displayed Disk Management window. Right-click the disk you want to partition, and select Shrink Volume. The system will then automatically check for available shrink space.
If multiple disks exist on your computer, select the disk you want to partition, right-click the disk, and choose Shrink Volume.
- Enter the amount you need to shrink in Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB. For example, if you want to shrink space by 10 GB, which is 10240 MB (10 x 1024), enter 10240 and then click Shrink.
- Right-click the unallocated space and choose New Simple Volume.
- In the New Simple Volume Wizard window, follow the onscreen instructions to specify the volume size, drive letter, and format for the new simple volume.
Delete a disk partition
- Once you delete a partition, all data on it will be erased. Back up important data before performing this action.
- Deleting a hidden partition will result in certain functions in your computer being lost. For example, once you delete a recovery partition on your computer, you will be unable to use the Huawei's system restore function.
- Right-click the disk you want to delete, choose Delete Volume, and click Yes in the pop-up.
- An unallocated space will then be displayed.
