Setting Internet Explorer to always open pop-up windows in a new tab
  1. Open Internet Explorer, click the Settings icon in the upper right corner, and select Internet options.

  2. Click Tabs under the General tab. In the Tabbed Browsing Settings window, select Always open pop-ups in a new tab under When a pop-up is encountered and click OK.
