Connect your phone to a computer and perform tasks on your phone using the computer

Windows 10 (1809) and later versions enables you to connect your phone to a computer and perform ongoing tasks such as web browsing, writing emails, and using apps on your computer screen.

1. Connecting your phone to the computer

First sign in to your Microsoft account.

1. Click the Windows icon and then the Settings icon.
2. Go to Phone > Add a phone to add your phone.
3. Enter your phone number in the Link your Andriod or iPhone to this PC dialog box. Click Send.
4. Your phone will then receive a message containing a link. Open the link to download and install the Cortana app.
5. After the Cortana app has been installed, log in with the same Microsoft account that was used to log in on the computer. Your phone will then connect to the computer.
6. You can see your paired phone in the phone list under Your phone on the computer.
   

   To disconnect your phone from the computer, click Unlink your PC.

2. Performing ongoing tasks on the computer

1. When browsing web pages, writing emails, or using apps on your phone, touch the share icon then select Continue on PC. Then, select the computer on which you would like to perform the ongoing tasks.
2. You can then continue to perform ongoing tasks on the computer.
