I forget the BIOS startup password of my HUAWEI computer

Problem

The user forgot the BIOS POST Password, so they could not log in to the system.

Cause

The BIOS POST Password is stored on the BIOS ROM chip to ensure optimal privacy and security.

Once you have set a BIOS POST Password, you'll need to enter the password each time that you power on your computer. This password will not be deleted even after you reinstall the system.

Solution

1. If a message is displayed indicating that verification has failed when you enter the password, check whether uppercase and lowercase letters or numeric keypad is enabled. If so, enter the correct password again.
2. If you are unable to access the system after entering the password multiple times, you may have forgotten the BIOS POST Password. It is recommended that you send your device to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for repair. Fees are subject to the quotation provided by the authorized Huawei Customer Service Center.
    

   • HUAWEI computers do not come with a BIOS password, nor any other form of universally applied passwords. It is recommended that you avoid setting a BIOS POST Password if there is a risk of losing or forgetting it.
   • Once a BIOS POST Password is set, you'll need to keep the password secure.
