Hide the content of notifications on the lock screen by going to or /Notification center > Lock screen notifications, and enabling Show but hide contents. If the content of notifications still displays, follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
1. No lock screen password is set on the phone
The Show but hide contents feature on the lock screen works only after Password is set. It is recommended that you open Settings, search for and access Lock screen password, set a lock screen password, and try once again.
2. Face unlock is enabled on your phone
If your phone supports Face unlock and your facial data has been enrolled, enabling Show but hide contents will hide notification content on a smart basis. The content of notifications will only display after the phone owner's face has been verified.
Phones running HarmonyOS are able to identify the owner even when the owner is wearing a mask, and display the content of notification on a smart basis.
3. If the issue persists
If the issue remains unresolved, call the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance, or back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for further assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
