There is a delay when I make calls, watch videos, or play games using my HUAWEI earbuds or speakers

Bluetooth earbuds use standard Bluetooth technology for wireless data transmission, which may take a short while. In addition, interference from sources of 2.4 GHz WLAN or electromagnetic signals may also affect data transmission, giving the impression that sound is slightly out of sync with the images.

Call/Audio latency

Audio playback and calls do not need to be synced with images, and no troubleshooting is required.

Audio and video latency

If audio is out of sync with the images after successful audio sharing, pausing and resuming playback will resolve the issue.

  1. Check whether the earbuds' firmware is up to date.
  2. Huawei has optimized audio syncing for phones/tablets running EMUI 10.1 or later. Please update your system.
  3. Huawei has released API specifications for app providers, so that apps can improve their audio-video synchronization. Please update AppGallery and the app in question from AppGallery. You can also report the issue to the app providers.

Gaming latency

  1. Check whether the earbuds' firmware is up to date.
  2. Update your phone/tablet to its latest version, and check whether the game is running the latest version.
  3. Connect your earbuds and enable Dynamic latency. To enable the feature, open the AI Life/HUAWEI Audio Connect app, access the earbuds details screen, and go to Settings/Earbud settings > Dynamic latency/Low audio latency. If the option cannot be found, it indicates feature unavailability.
  4. Exit the game and try again.

  • For WATCH Buds: Open the Huawei Health app, tap Devices, access the device details screen, and go to Earbuds > Settings > Dynamic latency.
  • If the issue occurs when you are using a third-party phone, please contact the phone vendor for assistance.
