[HUAWEI] Kids watch update failure

Follow the instructions to update your kids watch to the latest system version. If the update is still unsuccessful, troubleshoot based on the applicable scenario.

Unable to install the update package on the watch

If the update package fails to install, restore your watch to its factory settings, and download and install the package again.

  • Restoring your kids watch to its factory settings will clear all call logs, chat records, messages, photos, and other personal data. Exercise caution when performing this operation.
  • Avoid operating on the watch or pressing the side button during updates.

The HUAWEI FamCare app continues to display a message indicating that the watch is being updated

Check whether your watch is running the latest version.

  • If so, it indicates that the update is successful. The message displayed in the HUAWEI FamCare app may be due to a delay in status change when the Internet connection is undesirable. Check the update status again when the network conditions improve.
  • If not, make sure that your watch is properly connected to a functioning WLAN or mobile data network, and update your watch again.

The update screen keeps displaying a message indicating that the watch is waiting for an update after I touch Update on my fully-charged watch

Your watch may have entered thermal protection state. In this case, remove the charger, wait until your watch cools down, and try again.

The message "Unable to obtain data. Try again later." is displayed when I check the update screen in the HUAWEI FamCare app

  • Navigate to the system update screen on your watch and try updating it again.
  • Try again 10 minutes later.
  • Restart your watch and try again.

The watch can't be powered on after an update or crashes during an update

  • Connect your watch to a charger, and check whether your watch can be powered on properly.
  • Restart your watch and try again. If the restart fails, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds to forcibly restart your watch, and try again.

If the issue persists

If none of the above resolves the issue, back up your data, and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
