My 5G phone doesn't display a 5G signal icon

The 5G icon is not displayed for the secondary SIM card:

This is a normal phenomenon. Currently, the 5G icon is only displayed for the primary SIM card. The secondary SIM card only supports 2G/3G/4G.

The 5G icon is not displayed for the primary SIM card:

  1. Check whether the 5G switch is turned on: Swipe down from the top of the screen to show the shortcut menu, touch and hold Mobile data to enter the settings screen, touch Network mode, and select 5G/4G/3G/2G auto.

If your phone supports PrivateSpace or Multi-user mode, you cannot change the mobile network settings in PrivateSpace, Guest, or Sub-user mode. Switch to Owner mode and then perform step 1.

  2. Enable VoLTE services. If you have subscribed to a 5G plan, contact your carrier to activate VoLTE HD calls services. If you have subscribed to a 5G plan but haven't activated VoLTE HD calls services, it may affect registration with the 5G network, resulting in your phone not displaying a 5G icon.
  3. Check whether Power saving mode has been enabled: Power saving mode will disable 5G network to save battery power. If you want to use the 5G network, you can manually enable it.
  4. Check whether 5G Power Saving mode has been enabled: On your phone's setting screen, search for and touch 5G Power Saving mode (if you can't find this feature, it indicates that it is not supported by your phone), and disable 5G Power Saving mode. If it is enabled, your phone will automatically switch between 4G and 5G networks to save battery.

  1. Check whether there are local network issues: If this issue occurs on all 5G phones nearby using the same carrier's network, your area may not be covered by a 5G network. In this case, it is recommended that you move to another area or consult your local carrier.
  2. Update your phone system to the latest version or reset network settings: If you phone system is already up-to-date, open Settings, search for and touch Reset network settings, select a SIM card, and touch Reset network settings.

Note: This will delete all your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth data in the corresponding SIM card. The lock screen password is required for verification.

  3. Restart your phone or enable and disable Airplane mode: Some network settings may cause your phone to fail to connect to the 5G network within a short period of time. Restart your phone or enable and disable Airplane mode to resolve the issue.

If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
