Low volume level or different volume levels between left and right HUAWEI earbuds

Since 2024, HUAWEI TWS earbuds, such as FreeBuds Pro 4 and FreeBuds 6i , have introduced a standard volume design to protect your hearing. If you feel that the volume is slightly low, adjust the volume to the most comfortable level for you.

Perform the following to troubleshoot:

  1. Avoid signal interference : When you play a video or make a call in an environment with strong radio signal interference (such as at traffic light intersections, subway stations, high-speed railway stations, airports, and shopping malls, or if there is a microwave oven nearby) or a poor network signal, the volume from the earbuds may be low. This is a normal phenomenon.Avoid environments with strong radio signal interference or poor network signal reception.
  2. Clean the earbuds : Clean the earbuds in a timely manner, such as the sound output holes and air vent.
  3. Check the audio volume balance : Search for "Audio & Visual" in "Settings", and adjust "Balance" to centre.
  4. Adjust the volume :If you are in a noisy environment, adjust the volume to an appropriate level, and try changing the audio content or audio player and check whether this resolves the issue.
  5. Re-enable the "Sync volume with phone/tablet" : Open the AI Life app, access the earbuds card, go to Settings, and enable Sync volume with phone/tablet (enabled by default when some earbuds are paired with your device) or Bluetooth absolute volume switch on your phone/tablet.If this does not work, disable and re-enable the feature and try again.
  6. Update the firmware : Update the earbuds' firmware to the latest version , pair them with your device by pressing the function button/touch area for 10-15 seconds after the upgrade is completed. Then remove the earbuds to adjust the way you wear the earbuds.
  7. Close background apps : Search for "Audio & Visual" in "Settings", and adjust "Balance" to centre.
    1. Phone/Tablet: Update the system to the latest version. Swipe down from the upper left corner of the screen to display the notification bar, find the Bluetooth call audio notification, and touch Stop. Alternatively, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to display the Recent tasks screen, close all background apps, and try playing the audio once again.
    2. PC: Close all call apps that are currently running, and try playing the audio once again.
  8. If the issue persists, you can also take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.

  • Spatial audio creates a sense of space and direction for immersive listening, with the sound fixed in front of your head for most of the audio sources. After Head tracked is enabled, the volume levels you perceive from the left and right earbuds will change as you move your head. For example, when you move your head leftward, the volume level of sound from the left earbud will be lower. The same rule applies to the right earbud. This is normal and does not indicate an issue with your device. If you want the sound to be restored to the front, keep your head still and wait for seconds.
  • Models that support spatial audio : FreeBuds Pro 4 , FreeClip , FreeBuds Pro 3 , FreeBuds Pro 2. FreeBuds 5 supports Spatial Audio (Fixed) and does not support Head tracked.
