Problem
The computer cannot charge a phone after it is powered off.
Cause
- The computer does not support reverse charging when it is powered off.
- The computer supports reverse charging when it is powered off, but the phone is not connected to it through the correct port. (The USB-C port on the computer supports reverse charging during power-off, while the USB-A port does not support the feature.)
- A non-standard charging cable is used; the phone's charging port is not a USB-C port; the computer and the phone are connected through a docking station.
- Both the computer and phone are powered off, which does not allow the feature to take effect.
Solution

- Connect the phone to the computer through the USB-C port.
- Use the charging cable that comes with the standard power adapter of your HUAWEI computer to connect your phone which is powered on to your computer.
Phones with non-USB-C charging ports do not support this feature.
- If your phone has run out of battery and cannot be powered on, power on the computer, which will activate the reverse charging feature. Let your computer charge your phone for 10 minutes, power on your phone, and then power off the computer. In this way, the reverse charging feature will work all the way.
- If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
