Wireless screen projection from my HUAWEI computer to a monitor fails

Problem

Wireless screen projection from a HUAWEI computer to a monitor fails.

Cause

  • The monitor does not support wireless connections.
  • The Bluetooth or Wi-Fi channel of the computer or monitor is occupied.
  • The computer is too far away from the monitor.
  • The Microsoft network protocol is disabled.
  • The monitor does not adapt to the wireless Miracast protocol in the Windows system.

Solution

  1. Check whether the monitor supports wireless projection.
  2. Place your monitor 1 to 3 meters away from your computer, and close to a router.
  3. Go to Huawei PC Manager > Optimization > Drivers > CHECK to update the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi network adapter drivers to the latest versions. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices and delete the Bluetooth peripherals that are connected but not frequently used from the computer. Restart the computer. After entering the system, press and hold Win+K to search for the monitor and check if a wireless connection can be set up.

Click to go to Bluetooth & devices

  4. To enable the Microsoft network protocol (Reliable multicast protocol), perform the following steps:
    1. Enter Control Panel in the search box and select Open.
    2. Go to Network & internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings

    3. Right-click Wi-Fi and choose Properties from the shortcut menu.

      Click to go to Wi-Fi

    4. In the displayed Wi-Fi Properties dialog box, select Reliable Multicast Protocol, click Close, and perform wireless projection again.

If Reliable Multicast Protocol is unavailable, perform the following steps to add it:

      1. Select Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexer Protocol and click Install....

      2. In the dialog box that is displayed, click Protocol > Add....

      3. In the pop-up dialog box, select Reliable Multicast Protocol and click Close.
  5. Back up your data, update your computer's Windows system to its latest version, and reconnect your computer to your monitor wirelessly. If the issue persists, the monitor may not adapt to Miracast projection. It is recommended that you set up a wired connection instead of a wireless one. (For details about setting up a wired connection, refer to Connecting the computer to other devices such as external displays, projectors, and TVs.)

If the issue persists

If the issue remains unresolved, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
