Firmware and software update guide for the HUAWEI FreeBuds and FreeLace series earphones

Update the firmware or software of the Huawei Bluetooth earphones as follows. If the update fails, troubleshoot the issue by referring to Unable to update the firmware or software of the Huawei earphones.

For details about how to enable or disable automatic firmware updates for the earphones, see How to enable or disable auto-updates for the HUAWEI FreeBuds and FreeLace earphones.

  • Before the update, ensure that the battery level of both the earphones and the charging case is at least 20%. Keep the earphones inside the charging case and leave the case open. During the update process, do not operate the earphones.
  • The earphones will restart after they are updated. Before the restart is complete, the inner indicator will remain red. Please close the case and wait for 5 seconds before you use the earphones.
  • New versions cannot be rolled back to earlier versions. Many functions have been added or optimized in the new version. If you find any issues or have any suggestions when using the new version, send your feedback to us by going to Me > Help & feedback in AI Life.
