How to quickly connect to a Huawei router's Wi-Fi network

The H button or WPS button on your router makes it easy to connect your device to the router's Wi-Fi network. Press the H or WPS button to connect directly, without having to enter a Wi-Fi password.

  • This feature only works for devices that support the WPS feature (iOS devices do not support this feature).
  • The H or WPS button on the router can only be used to connect to a wireless device (such as a phone or tablet), and cannot be used for an upstream device (such as an ONT).
  • The Wi-Fi network that can be connected via the H or WPS button can be 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or 5 GHz Wi-Fi (including 5G_1 Wi-Fi, 5G_2 Wi-Fi, or 5 GHz Game Wi-Fi, depending on the router's supporting bands). Currently, guest Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 5 standby network Wi-Fi on the router cannot be connected in this manner.
  • Once your router has been linked in the AI Life app, the AI Life app can serve as the WPS button on the router. All you have to do is to open the app, touch the router card to enter the router management screen, and go to Show more > Wi-Fi management > WPS to complete the connection.
  1. Configure the router and make sure that it can access the Internet.
  2. Open your phone and go to Settings > Wi-Fi. Turn on WLAN, touch the name of the Wi-Fi network you wish to connect to, and place your phone within 1 meter away from the router. If the indicator on the router starts to blink slowly, it means that the router has detected your phone.
  3. Then, press the H or WPS button on the router. Alternatively, if the router has been linked in the AI Life app, open the AI Life app, touch the router card to access the router management screen, and go to Show more > Wi-Fi management > WPS. The router indicator will blink faster, which indicates that your phone is connecting to the router.
  4. When the router indicator stops blinking and stays steady on, it means that your phone has connected to the router's Wi-Fi network.

If you are not sure about the router's Wi-Fi name, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > More settings > WPS connection on your phone. Then, press the H or WPS button on the router. Alternatively, if the router has been linked to the AI Life app, open the AI Life app, you can touch the router card to access the router management screen, and touch Show more > Wi-Fi management > WPS, to connect to the router's Wi-Fi network.
