My HUAWEI power bank charges too slowly/fails to fully charge/fails to charge/is unable to charge devices in fast charging/SuperCharge mode
My HUAWEI power bank charges too slowly/fails to fully charge/fails to charge/is unable to charge devices in fast charging/SuperCharge mode |
If the HUAWEI power bank charges too slowly/fails to fully charge/fails to charge mobile phones, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure that the power bank has sufficient battery power. Press the button on the power bank. If only one LED indicator flashes, it indicates that the remaining power of the power bank is insufficient. In this case, charge the power bank in a timely manner.
- Check whether the ports of your phone, charging cable, or power bank are dirty or damaged. If so, clean the smudges or replace the charging cable and try again.
- Use the data cable that comes with your device for optimal charging.
- Charging may fail or slow down when the HUAWEI SuperPower Magnetic Power Bank is connected with a 1.5 m or longer data cable. Use the data cable that comes with your device for optimal charging.
- Devices that support the PD charging protocols (such as a PC and Nintendo Switch): It is recommended that you use the USB Type-C output port of the power bank and the original USB Type-C to USB Type-C charging cable to charge the device.
- HUAWEI SuperPower Magnetic Power Banks may heat up faster than other devices with the same power output due to their compact size. Charging will slow down once their temperature reaches a certain value. If you prioritize fast charging, HUAWEI 12000 66W SuperCharge Power Bank would be a better option for you.
If the power bank is unable to charge devices in fast charging/SuperCharge mode, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Determine which charging mode is being used by the charging icons in Table 1 or the charging animation.

If your phone/tablet supports fast charging/SuperCharge, but the HUAWEI power bank cannot provide fast charging or SuperCharge at 66 W, 65 W, 55 W, 40 W, 25 W, 22.5 W or any other power, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Check the laser engraving on the product to find the output specifications and determine whether your HUAWEI power bank supports SuperCharge.
If no more than two indicators on the HUAWEI 12000 66W SuperCharge Power Bank are on, the battery is low. Use a 40 W or 66 W HUAWEI charger to charge the power bank for 10 to 30 minutes. Then you should be able to use the power bank to charge the phone.
- Use a data cable which can tolerate a current greater than or equal to the charging current required for the device to be able to support fast charging, or use the cable that comes with the power bank. The cable's rated current should be displayed on its surface, on the packaging, or on the manufacturer's official website.
- The E-mark chip has been integrated into the USB-C port, so that the data cable can intelligently detect and match the device. This ensures that the output voltage and current are compatible with different devices. Update your phone/tablet to the latest EMUI or HarmonyOS version.
- Some models do not support E-mark detection, and "Max xxW" is not displayed when you charge your device. For further details about the charging specifications, contact your local Huawei customer service.
- Some power banks support charging while discharging. You can charge two devices at the same time through two ports, but fast charging is not supported when doing this. When charging two devices, connect each device to a single port.
- When your phone/tablet enters Smart Charge mode, the power bank may stop charging your phone/tablet. To learn more about this function or how your phone/tablet can be fully charged immediately (by disabling Smart Charge), refer to Phone or tablet stops charging when the charging progress reaches 80%, and other FAQs related to Smart Charge.
- Check whether the ports of the data cable/power bank are damaged. If they are damaged, stop using them and replace them in a timely manner. Check whether there is any debris or dirt in the ports. Carefully clean the ports and check the connection again.
- The power bank supports several charging protocols. The phone may not initially enter the Huawei SCP charging protocol. Therefore, the SuperCharge icon (which comprises two connected large bolts) may appear on the screen after the fast charging icon (which comprises a big lightning bolt next to a small lightning bolt). This is normal. Eventually, the charged device will enter SuperCharge mode.
If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device, power bank, data cable, and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
