Description
The toner cartridge of the printer is faulty, and the warning code 86 or CC is displayed on the printer's panel.
Cause
The warning code 86 indicates that the service life of the toner cartridge is about to expire, while the warning code CC indicates that the service life of the toner cartridge has expired.
Solution
- Touch and hold the start key on the printer's panel to print the information page and check the service life of the toner cartridge.
- Check the consumable information on the information page to determine the remaining service life of the toner cartridge. If the service life is about to expire or has expired, replace or reset the toner cartridge.
To replace the toner cartridge: Power off the printer, open the front cover, and remove the ink cartridge. Open the top cover, remove the old toner cartridge and insert a new one, and put back the ink cartridge. Close the front cover, start the printer, and print the information page which will show that the service life of the toner cartridge is 100%.
To reset the toner cartridge: Go to AI Life, touch the printer card and then the icon in the upper right corner, select Setting, and touch Reset Drum to reset the service life of the toner cartridge. However, the printing performance cannot be guaranteed for toner cartridges whose service life has expired. Therefore, you are advised to replace the toner cartridge in a timely manner for a better printing experience.
