If a new firmware version is available for your HUAWEI laser printer, you can update the firmware on the device connected to the printer.
- You can only update the printer firmware via the HUAWEI AI Life app or Huawei PC Manager.
- When updating the firmware, keep the printer powered on. Do not power off the printer.
- During the update, the number key on the printer panel flashes in a circular pattern
. After the firmware update is complete, the printer automatically restarts. After the restart is complete, wait until the number key displays 01.
- HUAWEI PixLab X1 is used as an example.
Phone/Tablet: Updating the printer firmware via the HUAWEI AI Life app
After connecting your phone/tablet to the printer via the HUAWEI AI Life app, tap the printer card to manually or automatically update the firmware.
- Manual firmware update
- Method 1: If a red dot is displayed on Firmware update, there is a new firmware version. Tap Firmware update. After a new firmware version is detected, tap UPDATE and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update.
- Method 2: Manually update the device by accessing the Device information screen.
This method is applicable only to HarmonyOS and Android devices. iOS devices do not support this method.

Tap the four-dot icon
in the upper right corner, tap General, and enable Auto-update. When a new firmware version is available and the device is idle, the firmware will be automatically downloaded and installed, and the printer will restart.
- iOS
Tap the four-dot icon
in the upper right corner, tap Setting, and enable Auto Update. When a new firmware version is available and the device is idle, the firmware will be automatically downloaded and installed, and the printer will restart.
- HarmonyOS/Android
HUAWEI Windows computer: Updating the printer firmware using Huawei PC Manager
Certain HUAWEI Windows computers can connect to the HUAWEI laser printer via Huawei PC Manager through a local area network (LAN). You can click My devices, click the printer card, and manually or automatically update the firmware.
- Manual firmware update: Click Firmware update. If a new firmware version is detected, follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update.
If the printer is connected to your computer using a USB cable, Firmware update is unavailable on the printer card in Huawei PC Manager.
- Auto firmware update: Click the four-dot icon
in the upper right corner, click Settings, and enable Auto-updates. When a new firmware version is available and the device is idle, the firmware will be automatically downloaded and installed, and the printer will restart.
