Setting up a wired LAN connection
Setting up a wired LAN connection |
- Ensure that the router is working properly. Connect the computer to one of the LAN ports (of the router) using a network cable, and connect the printer to another LAN port (of the router) using a network cable.
- Visit the HUAWEI Support website (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/), and enter the name of your product in the search bar to search for the product. Select your product from the search results to go to the product service and support details page. Select Software Download, and download the Huawei Print client installation package that corresponds with your computer system.
This guide uses Windows as an example to describe how to connect to and use a printer. The steps are similar, but vary depending on the specific operating system. Please perform the steps by following on-screen instructions for your specific case.
- Once the download is complete, unzip the PixLab_Series for Windows v1_xxx.zip file.
If you would like to install the Huawei Print client on another hard drive, such as drive D, copy the installation package to the corresponding folder directory and unzip it to the folder. Do not make the installation path too long. If the path contains more than 256 characters, the installation may fail.
- Unzip the PixLab_Series for Windows v1_xxx.rar file. After the decompression has been completed, double-click the PixLab_Series for Windows v1.xxx.exe file, and the printer's connection method dialog box will be displayed. Check the user agreement box, and click Over LAN.
- Select the corresponding printer from the search results.
The four consecutive digits in the printer name correspond to the last four digits of the printer's serial number. You can find the serial number on the back of the printer or by pressing and holding the printer's Start button for 3 seconds to print the information page.
- Wait until the printer's driver has been downloaded. Then, the printer configuration on the wired LAN will be complete. To use the printer, open the document to be printed, press Ctrl+P, and select the added printer to start printing.
