No pop-up window is displayed when HUAWEI Eyewear is near my phone/tablet

Perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Make sure that the glasses are in Pairing mode.
  • Certain phones/tablets (such as the HUAWEI nova 4e) do not show the proximity pairing prompt in certain apps, such as Camera, games, and Settings. This does not affect the Bluetooth connection, nor your ability to use the device as normal.
  • If you cancel the connection request when the proximity pairing prompt is displayed for the first time, the glasses will enter Pairing mode, and the prompt will no longer display for future connections. To display the prompt once again, turn the device screen off and on again, or re-enable Bluetooth on the device.

Update the glasses software and phone/tablet to their latest versions

Make sure that the glasses firmware or software is up to date, and that your phone/tablet is running EMUI 10.0/HarmonyOS 2.0 or a later version.

Some device models do not support proximity pairing prompts, including the following: HUAWEI P Smart 2019, HUAWEI P Smart+ 2019, HUAWEI Y7 Prime 2019 or earlier editions, HONOR 8 or earlier editions, and HUAWEI Y6 or earlier editions.

Enable Bluetooth on your phone/tablet

If Bluetooth is disabled on the phone/tablet, the glasses can't be connected, which explains why the proximity pairing prompt does not display.

Enable Bluetooth on your phone/tablet, and place the glasses within 20 cm of your phone/tablet to pair them.

Update AudioAccessoryManager to the latest version

For devices running EMUI 11.0/HarmonyOS 2.0 or later, open HUAWEI AppGallery and go to Me > Updates. Find and update AudioAccessoryManager to 11.1.0.180 or a later version.

Update the configuration files

For phones/tablets running EMUI 10.0/HarmonyOS 2.0 or later, the required configuration files may not have been updated from the server. To update the configuration files, perform the following:

On the phone/tablet running EMUI 10.0 or later, go to Settings > Apps & services > Apps, touch the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, and touch Show system processes. Then search for Device connection service, go to Device connection service > Storage > CLEAR DATA, and restart the phone/tablet.

On the phone/tablet running EMUI 11.0/HarmonyOS 2.0 or later, go to Settings > Apps & services > Apps, search for AudioAccessoryManager, and go to AudioAccessoryManager > Storage > CLEAR DATA.

Connect your phone/tablet to a Wi-Fi network and enable Bluetooth, or restart your phone/tablet. Your phone/tablet will automatically update the configuration files from the server.

If the issue persists, set your glasses to Pairing mode, and place them near your phone/tablet to try again.

When using the glasses for the first time, make sure that your phone/tablet is connected to a Wi-Fi network, and that Bluetooth is enabled, so that the required configurations can be updated from the server. You can disable Wi-Fi after the required configuration files have been updated.

Restore the glasses to their factory settings

Place the glasses close to your phone/tablet, restore the glasses to their factory settings, and check the dialog box displayed on your phone/tablet to pair the glasses with your phone/tablet once again.

If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
