Multi-EQ sound effects on HUAWEI FreeBuds series earphones

Description

Multi-EQ sound effects include multiple options (Default, Bass boost, Treble boost, and Voices).

  • EQ is short for Equalization. It is used to adjust the sound effect by adjusting the gain and other parameters of different frequencies. Each set of EQ parameters corresponds to one sound effect.
  • FreeBuds 5i supports Voices mode after it is updated to HarmonyOS 2.1.0.198, with AI Life plug-in 2.1.3.53 or later, Audio Connect 1.0.10.305 or later, and AudioAccessoryManager 13.0.0.150 or later installed on the device. Voices mode will soon be supported in the iOS version of the AI Life and HUAWEI Music apps. Please stay tuned for future updates.

Usage

Perform the following steps using the AI Life app or in Settings on a phone running EMUI/HarmonyOS:

  • Use the latest version of the AI Life app

After connecting the earphones to the phone, open the AI Life app, touch the earphones card, and go to Sound quality & effects > EQ sound effect. Select an EQ sound effect based on your preferences (Default, Bass boost, Treble boost, or Voices).

  • Use the Bluetooth settings on EMUI 11.0/HarmonyOS 2.0 or later

After connecting the earphones to the phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth > PAIRED DEVICES. Find the target earphones and touch to its right. Touch EQ sound effect, and select an EQ sound effect based on your preferences (Default, Bass boost, Treble boost, or Voices).

Before using the EMUI/HarmonyOS Bluetooth settings, update AudioAccessoryManager to the latest version.
