Changing the Bluetooth name on a Windows computer

By default, the computer's Bluetooth name is the computer name. You can change the computer's Bluetooth name in Device Manager.

Viewing the computer's Bluetooth name

Press Win + I to open the Settings window. Click Bluetooth & devices (or go to Devices > Bluetooth & devices). You can view the Bluetooth name of your computer under Bluetooth.

Changing the computer's Bluetooth name

  1. Right-click the Windows icon on the desktop and click Device Manager.

  2. In the Device Manager window, expand Bluetooth, right-click the Bluetooth driver name, and choose Properties from the shortcut menu.
     
    • Generally, the Bluetooth driver name of an Intel-based computer is "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)".
    • The Bluetooth driver name of an AMD-based computer is "Realtek Bluetooth Adapter".
    • The Bluetooth driver name of the HUAWEI MateBook E 2019 is "Bluetooth Device(Personal Area Network)".

  3. In the displayed Properties window, click Advanced, enter the new name, and click OK.
