The HUAWEI CPE network is unstable and devices disconnect occasionally |
Scenario 1: All wired and wireless devices disconnect.
- Check that the Ethernet cable is connected securely to the WAN port on your HUAWEI CPE. To check whether there is any problem with the Ethernet cable, replace it with another Ethernet cable and see if the issue persists.
- Change the HUAWEI CPE's Wi-Fi network password to a more complex one to improve your Wi-Fi network's security. This prevents unstable Internet connection resulted from unauthorized access. To do so, go to the Wi-Fi settings screen in the AI Life app.
- Update the HUAWEI CPE system to the latest version and try again(You can check for updates in the AI Life app.).
- Make sure that the broadband service is stable: Disconnect your HUAWEI CPE, then directly connect your computer to the Internet using an Ethernet cable. If you still cannot access the Internet, this indicates a problem with your broadband service. Contact your broadband service provider for assistance.
- If the HUAWEI CPE is getting internet from a SIM card, replace the SIM card to give it a try.
Scenario 2: Wireless devices disconnect.
- Keep your HUAWEI CPE away from sources of interference such as microwaves, refrigerators, ovens, and Bluetooth devices.
- Change the HUAWEI CPE's Wi-Fi network password to a more complex one to improve your Wi-Fi network's security. This prevents unstable Internet connections caused by unauthorized access. To do so, go to the Wi-Fi settings screen in the AI Life app.
- Update your HUAWEI CPE software to the latest version. (You can check for updates in the AI Life app.)
- If Wi-Fi signals are weak, change the location of the router. Make sure there are no obstacles, such as concrete or wooden walls, between your device and router.
- If there are multiple Wi-Fi networks nearby, try to eliminate the channel interference.
Connect your phone to your HUAWEI CPE's Wi-Fi network. Open the AI Life app, and access the management screen of the router. Touch Show more to access the More screen, then touch Wi-Fi Network Optimization (2.4 GHz), enable Use night settings, or touch Optimize. (The figure is for reference only.)
- If the Wi-Fi signal interference is severe, you can change the Wi-Fi bandwidth to 20 MHz:
Connect your phone or computer to the HUAWEI CPE's Wi-Fi network. Open a browser, enter 192.168.8.1 in the address bar, and log in to the web-based management page. Go to
, and change the bandwidth. - Make sure that the current Wi-Fi encryption mode is WPA/WPA2 PSK. If you manually change the encryption mode, the Wi-Fi performance may be affected.
Scenario 3: Wired devices disconnect.
- Check whether the issue lies with the Ethernet cable by using a different Ethernet cable. Potential issues include a loose connector or a cable that is showing wear and tear.
- Try updating the driver for your computer's network adapter. Incorrectly installed drivers may also cause connections to drop.
- Connect the wired device to another LAN port on the HUAWEI CPE.
