Spatial Audio feature on HUAWEI FreeBuds series earphones

When used with certain HUAWEI phones, the earphones support the Spatial Audio feature, and come with Theater, Cinema, and Concert hall listening modes, backed by the Huawei-exclusive scenario-specific spatial sound field rendering engine.

Supported models and version requirements

Spatial Audio is only available on certain HUAWEI phones or tablets running EMUI 13.0 or later, and requires that AudioAccessoryManager, AI Life app, and AI Life plug-ins be updated to their latest versions. The following lists the supported models.

Mobile phones: Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Ultra, P60, P60 Pro, P50, P50 Pocket, P50 Pro, Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, Mate 40 Pro, Mate X3, and Mate XS 2, Nova 11, Nova 11 Pro

Instructions

  1. Connect and wear both earphones.
  2. Open the Spatial Audio (Fixed)/Spatial Audio settings screen.
    • Method: Open the AI Life app, touch the earphones card, and touch Spatial Audio (Fixed)/Spatial Audio.
  3. Select Head tracked or Fixed.

    • FreeBuds 5 supports Spatial Audio (Fixed) and does not support Head tracked.
    • Sound effects of the audio source or from music apps may overlap with those of Spatial Audio, undermining the listening experience. You can disable Spatial Audio temporarily if the effects are not as desired.
  4. Switch between the following Spatial Audio modes:
    • Default
    • Theater
    • Cinema
    • Concert hall
  5. Play music as needed.
