My hand tingles or feels a slight current shock when I touch a device that is being charged with a HUAWEI charger

Problem

Some people may feel a slight tingle or current shock when touching a device with a metal shell, such as a laptop, while it is being charged.

Cause

  • A certain amount of current leakage is inevitable when using an ungrounded charger (otherwise known as a two-pin plug). If the device that is being charged has a metal shell, there is a chance that you will feel a slight tingle or current shock when you touch the metal surface of the device, if the power grid quality is poor.
  • This tingling sensation may differ by individual.

Solution

Current leakage from HUAWEI chargers poses no danger, as it is far below the threshold set by national laws and regulations (250 uA).

If you feel that the current leakage is too strong, take the product and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
