| How Do I Complete EasyMesh Networking on Routers? |
Huawei routers that support EasyMesh are compatible with routers of other brands for completing EasyMesh networking.
Enabling EasyMesh on the Huawei router
- Connect your computer to the router's Wi-Fi (or connect the computer to the router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable). Enter the default IP address in your browser address bar and log in to the web-based management page (check the nameplate at the bottom of the router for the default IP address).
- For routers that feature self-adaptive ports, you do not need to distinguish between WAN and LAN ports.
- Initial configuration must be performed on all routers.
- If you are connecting your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network, switch your phone's webpage to the PC-based UI before performing the following operations.
- Go to More Functions > Network Settings > Network configuration and set Mode to Adaptive. If the router is planned as the main router, you can set Mode to Primary router. Similarly, if the router is planned as the secondary router, you can set Mode to Secondary router.

Text operation guide
If you have multiple routers that support the EasyMesh feature, you can configure EasyMesh networking for them.
The router connected to the optical modem or the drop network cable is the main router, and the router connected to the main router is the secondary router.

- Initial configuration must be performed on the primary and secondary routers, and EasyMesh must be enabled.
- If two or more Huawei routers are used for EasyMesh networking, disable Link+ on each router.
- To ensure Wi-Fi stability, it is recommended that the secondary router be placed in a room that is separated from the main router by only one wall after completing the wireless EasyMesh networking. You are advised not to use the secondary router in a room that is separated from the main router by two walls.
EasyMesh networking
Select the recommended EasyMesh networking mode based on the device features of the main router, and ensure that the main router has been configured and accesses the network service normally (the indicator is steady green, white, blue or on customized or in Golden Mountain mode).

The main router has a WPS (WPS/RESET) button. |
Method 1: Press the WPS (WPS/RESET) button to complete EasyMesh networking. |
|
The main router does not have a WPS (WPS/RESET) button, but the main router is linked to the AI Life app. |
Method 2: Complete EasyMesh networking in a wireless relay manner. |
|
The main router does not have a WPS (WPS/RESET) button, and the main router is not linked to the AI Life app. |
Method 3: Complete networking using a network cable directly. |

- Method 1: Press the WPS (WPS/RESET) button to complete EasyMesh networking.
- After initial configuration is performed on the primary and secondary routers, enable EasyMesh for each router.
- Place the secondary router near the main router that can access the Internet (within one meter is recommended) and power on the secondary router. After a while, press the WPS (WPS/RESET) button on the primary and secondary routers in sequence. If the indicator on the secondary router turns steady green, white, or blue, the EasyMesh networking is complete.
- Power off the secondary router, move the secondary router to a place where Wi-Fi needs to be improved, and power on the secondary router again. After a while, the indicator of the secondary router turns steady green, white, or blue again, indicating that the networking is completed.
- Method 2: Complete EasyMesh networking in a wireless relay manner.
- After the primary and secondary routers are configured for the first time, enable EasyMesh for each router.
- Place the secondary router near the main router that is connected to the Internet (within one meter is recommended) and power on the secondary router.
- Connect your phone/tablet to the Wi-Fi of the secondary router, access the web management screen, and go to More Functions > Wi-Fi Settings > Wi-Fi repeater, to enable Wi-Fi Repeater.

- Select the Wi-Fi network of the main router to be relayed, enter the correct Wi-Fi network password, and touch Next. When the indicator of the secondary router is steady green, white, blue or on (customized or in Golden Mountain mode), the relay networking is completed, that is, the EasyMesh wireless networking is completed.

- Power off the secondary router, move the secondary router to a place where Wi-Fi needs to be improved, and power on the secondary router again. After a while, the indicator of the secondary router turns steady green, white, blue or on (customized or in Golden Mountain mode) again, indicating that the EasyMesh networking is completed.
- Method 3: Complete networking using a network cable directly.
- After the primary and secondary routers are configured for the first time, enable EasyMesh for each router.
- Connect the LAN port of the primary router to the WAN port of the secondary router using a network cable. (If the network port is marked with WAN/LAN, you do not need to distinguish the WAN port from the LAN port.) The networking is automatically completed after the connection. If the indicator on the secondary router is steady green, white, blue or on (customized or in Golden Mountain mode), the EasyMesh networking is completed.

When the wired networking is stable, you can switch the HUAWEI WiFi Mesh+ wired networking to the wireless EasyMesh networking. Power off the secondary router, remove the network cable, move the secondary router to a place where Wi-Fi needs to be improved, and power on the secondary router again. After a while, the indicator of the secondary router turns steady green, white, blue or on (customized or in Golden Mountain mode) again, indicating that the networking is completed.
