Problem

When the computer is connected to a power adapter for charging, the battery screen displays a message indicating that the computer is discharging or the battery level decreases.

Cause

• The power adapter is not the one that comes with the device, and therefore may not work with the computer's protocol or the charging power may not be reached. As a result, the device cannot be charged.
• A specific battery mode is selected in Huawei PC Manager, which means that the laptop will be charged only when the battery level is lower than a certain value.

Solution

1. Use the power adapter that comes with your computer for charging.
2. Enable Battery Protection in Huawei PC Manager based on the usage scenario, and select a charging mode as required. For details, see Using the Battery Protection feature in PC Manager.
3. If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
