[Huawei] My watch can't connect to my Bluetooth earphones or can't reconnect automatically once disconnected

For details about how to connect Bluetooth earphones to your watch, refer to Connecting Bluetooth earbuds to the watch.

If this issue persists, perform the following operations.

I can't find my earphones in the Bluetooth list

If you can't find your earphones on your watch, it might be because the earphones are not ready for pairing.

1. Disconnect the Bluetooth earphones from your phone or other devices.

2. Restart and initialize the Bluetooth earphones. Make sure that the Bluetooth earphones are ready for pairing.

3. Go to Setup > Earphones on your watch, search for your earphones, and finish pairing.

Actual operations to prepare your Bluetooth earphones for pairing vary depending on the device brand and model. Follow the instructions in the user guide or consult the hotline staff of the product in question for more information.

My watch and earphones can't automatically reconnect once disconnected

If the earphones do not support automatic reconnection or the watch has been connected to the phone, the earphones will not automatically reconnect to the watch. After they are disconnected, ensure that the earphones are in Pairing mode and then reconnect them on the watch.

The earphones disconnect when their battery level is lower than 30%

Some Bluetooth earphone models, such as 03-502 Bose, Bose SoundSport Free, and HUAWEI FreeBuds 3, will automatically disconnect from your watch when their battery level is lower than 30%. In this case, charge your Bluetooth earphones and try again.

Bluetooth earphones that support automatic connection can't reconnect to the device once disconnected

After the earphones are beyond the connection range then disconnected from the watch for over three minutes, the earphones will enter sleep mode by default. When the earphones return to the connection range, they will not automatically reconnect to the watch.

  • When both devices are within the Bluetooth connection range, double-tap either of the earphones to wake them up. The earphones will then send a connection request automatically.
  • When you remove the earphones from your ears then put them back in again to wake them up, the earphones will then send a connection request automatically.
  • When both devices are within the Bluetooth connection range, put the earphones back in the charging case and then take them out again to wake them up. The earphones will then send a connection request automatically.

The following two conditions must be met for your devices to automatically connect:

    1. This feature is only available with one of the following wearable devices connected to a phone running EMUI 10.0/HarmonyOS 2.0 or later:
      • HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 Series
      • HUAWEI WATCH GT2 Pro Series
      • HUAWEI WATCH 3 Series
      • HONOR MagicWatch 2
      • HONOR Watch GS Pro
    2. Your phone has been paired with the watch and earphones.
