Noise canceling mode or Awareness mode is different on the left and right FreeBuds series/WATCH Buds earphones

If you feel that noise cancellation in the left and right earphones is inconsistent after you enable Noise canceling mode or Awareness mode, perform the following steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Choose a suitable size of ear tips (if applicable) and adjust their position to ensure a snug fit.

    • Currently, only FreeLace Pro 2, FreeBuds Pro 3, FreeBuds Pro 2 +, WATCH Buds, FreeBuds Pro 2, FreeBuds 5i, FreeBuds Pro, FreeBuds 4i, FreeBuds 3i, FreeLace, FreeLace Pro, FreeLace Lite, and FreeBuds SE earphones come with ear tips.
    • For FreeBuds Lipstick 2/FreeBuds 5, you can try installing the ear tips that come with the earphones. When adjusting the position of the FreeBuds Studio earphones, make sure that the ear caps provide a snug fit.
    • You can use the AI Life app to adjust the noise cancellation on your FreeBuds 3 to an optimal level. For details, see How to enable or disable the active noise cancellation feature.
  2. Check the sound output holes, air vents, and microphone holes on your earphones and remove any foreign objects.
  3. Restore the earphones to their factory settings:
    • FreeBuds series earphones: Press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds or longer until the indicator flashes to restore the earphones to their factory settings. Then pair the earphones once again.
    • WATCH Buds earphones: On your watch, go to Settings > Manage earbuds > More settings > Reset earbuds to restore the earphones to their factory settings. Then pair the earphones once again.

If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
