Noise cancellation performance does not work well on my HUAWEI earbuds |
Perform the following to troubleshoot:
- ANC works well for low-frequency noises, such as the noise on airplanes, trains, and in offices (air conditioners), and isn't designed to reduce high-frequency noises, such as background voices, whose frequency range typically exceeds the ANC range. Therefore, background chatter can only be partially eliminated.
- Select a pair of ear tips that best fits your ears and adjust the position of the earbuds to ensure a snug, comfortable fit.
The tighter the fit, the better the noise cancellation performance.
- Select a proper noise cancellation mode. (A tone will play once the noise cancellation mode is set.)
- By default, the noise cancellation mode of HUAWEI FreeLace Pro 2 is set to Dynamic. If you prefer to an enhanced noise cancellation performance, select Ultra mode in the AI Life app.
- FreeBuds Pro 4/FreeBuds 6i/FreeBuds Pro 3/FreeBuds Pro 2/FreeBuds 5i/FreeBuds Pro/FreeBuds Studio/FreeLace Pro: Enable Ultra mode in the AI Life app when in a noisy environment, such as on the subway.
- FreeBuds 5/FreeBuds 4/FreeBuds Lipstick//FreeBuds 3, or other open-fit ANC earbuds: These open-fit earbuds are designed for optimal comfort and their noise cancellation effects may be inferior to in-ear earbuds. You can try different noise cancellation modes in the AI Life app before selecting the best option.
- Noise cancellation mode:
- WATCH Buds: You can enable or disable the noise cancellation feature in the Huawei Health app.
- FreeBuds 4i/FreeBuds 3i/FlyPods 3 doesn't support noise cancellation modes, such as General, Cosy, and Ultra.
- FreeBuds 5/FreeBuds 4/ doesn't support Ultra mode.
- Earbud models that come with ear tips:
- Currently, only FreeBuds Pro 4/FreeBuds 6i/FreeLace Pro 2/FreeBuds Pro 3/FreeBuds Pro 2 +/WATCH Buds/FreeBuds Pro 2/FreeBuds 5i/FreeBuds Pro/FreeBuds 4i/FreeBuds 3i/FreeLace/FreeLace Pro/FreeLace Lite/FreeBuds SE earbuds come with ear tips.
- If you are using WATCH Buds, click here to read the guide, for optimal fit, listening, and noise cancellation.
- If you are using FreeBuds Studio, adjust the width and ear cups to create a snug fit on your ears, for optimal sound quality and noise cancellation.
- Check whether the earbuds' firmware is up to date.
- Use a clean and dry pointed cotton swab to gently remove any dirt from the mesh holes, and then use a soft cloth to clean the holes. It is recommended that you clean the earbuds once a week.
Make sure that the earbuds' firmware is updated to its latest version. If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
