Unable to find a device or projection fails when using Wireless Projection (Multi-screen) to project my HUAWEI phone/tablet to a TV

Project the screen by referring to Project Your Phone Screen Wirelessly. If the issue persists, try the following:

HUAWEI phones/tablets support DLNA- and Miracast-based wireless projection. Swipe down from the status bar/Control Panel, and enable Wireless Projection (Multi-screen) to search for available devices.
  • If the icon displays for a TV, it means that DLNA mode is being used. In this case, only HUAWEI Video, HUAWEI Music, and HUAWEI Gallery support projecting the audio or video stream to the TV.
  • If the icon displays for a TV, it means that Miracast mode is being used. In this case, the phone screen and sound can be projected to the TV.
  • If the TV cannot be found, it indicates that the TV does not support DLNA- and Miracast-based screen projection. You can install a third-party screen projection app (such as Lebocast) on your phone and TV to try again.

1. Restart the device

  • Restart the TV, set-top box (STB), and router.
  • Close the video app on your device, open it again, and try wirelessly projecting again.

2. Clear the cache

Open Settings, search for and access Apps, go to / > Show system processes/Show system processes, find Wireless Projection/Multi-screen, go to Storage > CLEAR CACHE > CLEAR DATA, and try wirelessly projecting again.

3. Disable the Wi-Fi+ feature

Open Settings, search for Wi-Fi+ in the search box, disable this feature, and try wirelessly projecting again.

The Wi-Fi+ feature preferentially selects the optimal Wi-Fi. This can cause the two devices to connect to different local area networks, resulting in projection failure.

4. Turn on the Wireless Projection (Multi-screen) switch of the TV again

There are multi-screen service switches (such as Display and Multi-screen) on your TV. Turn the switches on again (if you can't find the switches, contact the TV manufacturer for how to turn on the switches), and try again.

5. Reset the network settings

Open Settings, search for Reset network settings in the search box, and tap Reset network settings to try wirelessly projecting again.

This will clear all Wi-Fi, mobile network data, and Bluetooth data.

6. Try another network or device

Connect another device to the same network and check whether screen projection works properly.

  • If so, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
  • If not, connect your device to another Wi-Fi network or hotspot and try again. If the issue persists, the cause may be with the TV. In this case, you can download a screen projection app (such as Lebocast) on your phone and TV to try again. At the same time, please contact the TV manufacturer for technical support.

7. If the issue remains unresolved

If the issue remains unresolved or you encounter any difficulties, please contact the Huawei customer service hotline for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
