Working with innovative gestures, the all-new HUAWEI Free Touch allows you to minimize windows, close windows, quickly take screenshots, record screens, adjust the brightness and volume, fast-forward or rewind videos, and open the notification center.
- This feature is integrated into Huawei PC Manager. Ensure that the Huawei PC Manager is running when using the feature. If you have uninstalled Huawei PC Manager, you will not be able to use this feature. If you want to use the feature, download Huawei PC Manager back to your computer.
- This feature requires Huawei PC Manager 13.0.2.300 or a later version. Update PC Manager to the latest version when necessary.
- This feature can be used only after the computer is powered on or woken up, and cannot be used when the computer is powered off, in sleep mode, or in hibernation mode.

Precaution: Only certain models support HUAWEI Free Touch.

The press gestures in the upper left and right corners are only supported by computers running Windows 11.
- Minimizing a window: Press the upper left corner of the touchpad to minimize the current folder or app.
- Closing a window: Press the upper right corner of the touchpad to quickly close the opened folders or apps. When browsing a web page, the current tab page can be quickly closed.
Taking screenshots/screen recordings
- Taking screenshots: Double-tap the touchpad using one knuckle to take a full screenshot.
- Taking screen recordings: Double-tap the touchpad using two knuckles to start screen recording. Double-tap the touchpad again to end the recording. The maximum duration of a single screen recording is two hours.
You can enable Microphone audio and System sounds for screen recording in Huawei PC Manager, which however is only supported on certain device models. To configure the feature, perform the following:
Enter Huawei PC Manager in the search box (
) on the taskbar and open it. Click 
in the upper right corner, go to , and select an option as needed.
- After you take a screenshot or screen recording, the thumbnail of the screenshot or video will be displayed in the lower right corner of the home screen. Click the thumbnail to view or open the file location.
- Click
on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen to open Huawei PC Manager Message Center. A message is displayed at the top indicating that the screenshot or screen recording is successful. Click the message to open the screenshot or screen recording folder.
Adjusting the brightness and volume
Sliding one finger along the upper edge of the touchpad is not supported on certain media players. The actual situation shall prevail.
- Adjusting the brightness: Swipe one finger up and down along the left edge of the touchpad to adjust the screen brightness.
- Adjusting the volume: Swipe one finger up and down along the right edge of the touchpad to adjust the system volume.
Fast-forwarding/rewinding the video, and switching between tabs/windows:
In the following scenarios, you can swipe your finger leftward and rightward along the upper edge of the touchpad at a constant speed to implement the functions described below.
- Video playback: Fast-forward or rewind the video.
- Browser in use with no video played: Switch between tab pages.
- Word or PPT in use: Switch between windows.
- Excel in use: Switch between sheets.
Opening the notification center
Swipe two fingers leftward from the right edge of the touchpad to display the notification center and view notifications.
