Connect other phones, tablets, or computers to a HUAWEI laser printer that has been connected to the Internet
Connect other phones, tablets, or computers to a HUAWEI laser printer that has been connected to the Internet |
After the printer is connected to a network (the network status button is steady white, as shown in Figure 1), the device that configures the network for the printer is the administrator device, which can directly use the printer. Other devices (such as mobile phones, tablets, and computers) in your home or enterprise can be connected to the printer in either of the following ways:
If the printer is not connected to the Internet, see Configure the network for a HUAWEI laser printer using a mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
- If you have logged in to your phone, tablet, or HUAWEI Windows computer with the same HUAWEI ID as the administrator's device, download and install the HUAWEI AI Life app or Huawei PC Manager, and open the app, then you'll find the printer card automatically displayed on the screen.
- If the computer and printer do not log in to the same HUAWEI ID, connect the devices to the same Wi-Fi network. That is, the computer and printer are in the same LAN.

Connect to the printer using the HUAWEI AI Life app (applicable only to phones/tablets)
- Open the HUAWEI AI Life app on the administrator phone/tablet, touch and hold the printer card, touch Share, and select Share via QR code, Share via HUAWEI ID, or Share via WeChat, to share the printer with other devices. (The following uses sharing via HUAWEI ID as an example.)
- Download and install the HUAWEI AI Life app on the non-administrator device, log in to a HUAWEI ID, and accept the sharing.
- After the sharing connection is built, you can use the printer for printing, copying, and scanning from the Huawei Printer card in the app.
Connect to the printer using the Huawei Print client (applicable to Windows/macOS/Linux computers)
- Visit the official website of the printer (HUAWEI PixLab X1: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/printers/pixlab-x1/), find Driver download or Drivers, and download the client installation program package named "HUAWEI Printer (Laser)_XXX" based on your computer system.
If your computer cannot access the Internet, download the Huawei Print client to a USB flash drive and copy the client to the target computer.
- Decompress the downloaded package to a folder on the computer, and double-click the Huawei Print client installation program.
- For Windows computers: Decompress the installation package and double-click the .exe file, for example, PixLab_Series for Windows v1.122.exe, to open the Huawei Print client installation program.
- For macOS computers: Unzip the installation package and double-click the file whose file type is Application, for example, HUAWEI PixLab Series, to open the Huawei Print client installation program.
- For Linux computers: Decompress the installation package and double-click the .sh file, for example, install.sh, and choose Run in Terminal. In the Terminal window, enter the user name and password, to open the Huawei Print client installation program.
The Ubuntu OS is used as an example for Linux computers. The actual interface of those running Red Hat OS may vary slightly.
- On the Choose connection method and install Huawei Print screen, read and agree to the Huawei Print User Agreement, and select Over LAN.
The actual interface may vary depending on the system.
- After the printer is detected by the Huawei Printer client, click CONNECT and wait until the connection is complete. (Make sure that the computer and printer are in the same LAN. Otherwise, the printer may fail to be detected.)
- The four digits following the printer name are the serial number of the printer, which you can find on the nameplate on the back of the printer.
- The serial number is followed by the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the printer. Select either of them.
- After the Added successfully message is displayed, click DONE. The Huawei Print client named PixLab Series_Huawei Print will be displayed on the desktop. Open the client. Then you can use the connected HUAWEI printer.
Connect to the printer using Huawei PC Manager (Applicable only to certain HUAWEI Windows computers)
This method applies only to HUAWEI Windows computers whose System SKU is C233, C300, C243, C235, C245, C500, or C292. To view System SKU, press Win+R to open the Run window, enter msinfo32, and click OK. The System Summary window is displayed. In the Item list on the right, you can view the System SKU of the current computer.
- Visit the official website (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/pc-manager/) and download and install the latest version of Huawei PC Manager.
- Open Huawei PC Manager and log in to your HUAWEI ID. Go to and select the printer category. The computer will automatically search for printers on the LAN. From the results, select the desired printer, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the connection.
- After the connection is built, click the HUAWEI printer card in My devices. The plug-in will be automatically downloaded. You can then use the printer once the download is complete.
