When the code "CC" is displayed on the touch panel and the Start button flashes red, it indicates that you need to replace the drum cartridge. To do so, go to an official Huawei channel to purchase an original drum cartridge assembly (drum cartridge + toner cartridge) compatible with the printer and replace it in a timely manner.

 

• Replace the toner cartridge together with the drum cartridge, as the old toner cartridge isn't fit for further use.

• It is recommended that you go to an official Huawei channel to purchase an original drum cartridge assembly for the printer. If you use a non-original drum cartridge assembly, the printing quality and performance of the printer may not meet the design standards, and void the warranty services provided by the original manufacturer.
• Since there are heated components inside the printer, it is recommended that you power off the printer and then keep it idle for at least half an hour before replacing the drum cartridge.

Procedure:

1. Press the button on the top cover to open the top cover.

   

2. Hold the inner handle of the old drum cartridge and pull it up at an angle to carefully remove the old drum cartridge assembly.

   

3. Take out the new toner cartridge and drum cartridge from the packaging, insert the new toner cartridge on the new drum cartridge, and lock the toner cartridge.
    

   • Clean your clothes or hands promptly if they get stained with toner.
   • Distinguish the toner cartridge from drum cartridge and make sure that the toner cartridge is locked (as shown in the following figure).

   

4. Gently shake the drum cartridge horizontally for three to four times. Do not flip it. It is normal if a small amount of toner is scattered when you shake the drum cartridge. You can use a tissue to clean the toner.

   

5. Tilt and install the new drum cartridge and toner cartridge assembly toward the bottom (align the metal and plastic heads on the left and right sides of the drum cartridge with the two vertical slots on the inner wall of the printer, and install them in a downward motion), and press down on the top cover to close it.

   

6. Reset the drum cartridge and then the toner cartridge in either of the following ways.
   

   Because the toner cartridge is replaced at the same time, both the drum cartridge and toner cartridge need to be reset.

   Method 1: Reset the drum cartridge and toner cartridge on the printer

   Drum Cartridge/Toner Cartridge	Procedure
   Reset the drum cartridge	Reset the drum cartridge: Press and hold + for 5 seconds until the number "99" is displayed. After the printer is initialized, the drum cartridge is reset successfully. As shown in the following figure on the left.
   Reset the toner cartridge	Press and hold + for 5 seconds until the number "66" is displayed, indicating the printer has entered the toner transfer phase. The printer will then generate a buzzing sound that will last for about 100 seconds. When the buzzing sound ends, it indicates that the new toner cartridge has been inserted successfully. As shown in the following figure on the right.

   

   Method 2: Reset the drum cartridge and toner cartridge on a mobile device or computer

   • Mobile devices: Connect your phone or tablet to the printer using the HUAWEI AI Life app. Open the app, touch the printer card, and touch in the upper right corner.
     • For Android or HarmonyOS devices, go to Settings > Reset drum cartridge/Reset toner cartridge.
     • For iOS devices, Setting > Reset drum cartridge/Reset toner cartridge.

   • Computers: After the computer is connected to the printer through Huawei PC Manager or the Huawei Print client, click the printer card in Huawei PC Manager or open the Huawei Print client, click in the upper right corner, and go to Settings > Advanced > Reset drum unit/Reset toner cartridge.

7. After resetting the drum cartridge and toner cartridge, print 5 to 10 pages of blank paper before printing your documents.
