Enable or disable the camera on my HUAWEI laptop

Non-recessed camera

Located at the top of the screen

Supported on certain models

Via HUAWEI Control Panel

1. Click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen to open HUAWEI Control Panel, and select the Camera card. Alternatively, open Huawei PC Manager, click My devices, and select the Camera card.
2. Access the Camera settings screen and click the switch on the right of Camera to enable or disable the camera.

HUAWEI MateBook D 16 Series

Via the camera key (which is located in the upper right corner of the keyboard)

Press the camera key on the keyboard to enable or disable the camera.

For example, when you open an app such as Camera or start a video chat, pressing the camera key will disable the camera, and pressing the key again will enable the camera.

HUAWEI MateBook X Pro Core Ultra Premium Edition

Via the camera privacy switch (which is located on the right side of the laptop)

The switch powers off the camera to prevent peeping and better protect your privacy.

• Flip the switch towards the screen to enable the camera permission and use the corresponding app to take photos or record videos.
• Flip the switch towards the touchpad to disable the camera permission. In this case, the camera won't be available, and the right side of the switch will display in red.

  

Recessed camera

Usually located between the F6 and F7 keys on the keyboard

Via the camera key

1. Press the camera key on the keyboard to eject the camera.
2. Press the camera key again to retract the camera.
